On July 7, 2021, Wout won the 11th stage of the biggest grand tour; the Tour de France. This mountain stage from Sorgues to Malaucène was a very special one because the riders had to climb the Mont Ventoux twice. After several escapes, it was Wout who finishes first, more than one minute from the number 2.

The venteux (windy in French) mountain is one of the most famous in cycling because of its lunar landscape. It was first climbed in 1951 during the Tour de France.
